There is one thing I will never understand. How do our employers expect us telemarketers to make decent sales without good leads lists? They seem to be under the impression that it is all dependent on our sales pitches, which just isn’t true. While that has a to do with the sale itself, it has nothing to do with whether or not the people we call choose to hear us out.
This is especially true of sweepstakes leads, as they tend to only have a small amount of people who actually have entered contests in the recent past. It isn’t easy to convince someone that they have won a drawing if they never enter any. Most will just hangup before you get to the sales pitch.
But when you buy hard copy sweepstakes leads you are purchasing a list that is made up entirely of people who have already entered into contests. You can imagine how much easier this makes the entire process. Since they believe they have won, you are able to get to your sales pitch and explain what it is they have to do to claim their reward.
This will make your job so much easier, trust me. As a telemarketer I was struggling to make the week’s quota for sales, and a few times I didn’t. I was on my last leg when I finally turned to buying my own leads, and practically desperate for a sale. That first week I completed my quota three days in. It has been an upward climb ever since.
